In addition to hikes to the local mountains Kaiserkrone, Zirkelstein and the nearby Zschirnsteinen, the area of the Saxon Switzerland around Schöna offers a variety of excursion and hiking opportunities:
So you can visit eg the fortress Königstein with the (152,5m) deepest well of Saxony, the bastion with the rock stage Rathen (with several plays in the year), the castles Stolpen and Hohnstein or in the Toskana Therme in Bad Schandau at one Brine bath or in the sauna world really well.
The picturesque old town of Pirna invites you with its small shops and cafes for strolling and drinking coffee.
On the other side of the Elbe in Schmilka there is a historic organic mill bakery (from our apartment about a half hour walk away) with its own organic brewery. In the Mühlenhof you can enjoy the historic flair with a cool amber beer.
Furthermore, you have the opportunity to take a bike ride along the Elbe with bicycles. Even the fleet of paddle steamer offers various tours on the Elbe. For example, the castle tour around Dresden, the Schrammsteinfahrt or the trip to Bohemian.
The natural rock labyrinth in Langenhennersdorf is an ideal playground for young and old children.
In the Elbefreizeitland in Königstein there is a Minigoilfanlage, an adventure labyrinth and much more.
